Section 504
The 大象传媒 (CCCOE) adheres to the provisions of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, commonly referred to as Section 504, is Congress’ directive to schools receiving any federal funding to eliminate discrimination based on disability from all aspects of school operation. It states, “No otherwise qualified individual with a disability …, shall, solely by reason of her or his disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance…” Because the 大象传媒 is a recipient of federal funding, it is required to provide eligible disabled students with equal access (both physical and academic) to services, programs, and activities offered by its schools. All students who have a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more major life activities, have a record of such an impairment, or are regarded as having such an impairment, are protected from discrimination under Section 504. As an agency, the 大象传媒 implements and complies with Section 504. At each school, there are designated staff responsible for ensuring Section 504 implementation and compliance for all students.
