Homeless Education Technical Assistance Centers (HETAC)

The California HETAC is funded by the California Department of Education (CDE) to provide support and technical assistance to county offices of education, local education agencies, and other interested stakeholders to ensure educational access and success for children and youth experiencing homelessness. The HETAC is operated jointly by the 大象传媒 Costa, Los Angeles, and San Diego County Offices of Education.

- Course 1:
The first of three courses includes a three module training that will provide professional development for County Office of Education McKinney-Vento homeless liaisons on their roles and best practices.
- Course 2:
The second of three courses includes a twelve module training that will provide professional development for newly-designated LEA McKinney-Vento homeless liaisons on the essential laws and best practices for their role. Each module concludes with a short quiz, and there is a final quiz at the conclusion of all twelve modules.
- Course 3:
The third of three courses includes a three module training that will provide basic information about child and youth homelessness, the legal rights of students experiencing homelessness, and how administrators, staff, and faculty can identify and support students facing the challenges of unstable or inadequate housing.
